It is reported that China's county tourism development monitoring and evaluation objects are 1881 counties in China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) (data at the end of 2019, excluding county-level municipal districts). According to the report, China's top 100 tourism counties in 2020 are distributed in 21 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government). Among them, there are 25 in Zhejiang, 10 in Guizhou, 7 in Jiangsu, 7 in Yunnan, 6 in Jiangxi, 6 in Sichuan, 5 in Hunan, 5 in Shanxi, 4 in Anhui, 4 in Guangxi, 3 in Hebei, 3 in Shaanxi, 3 in Xinjiang, 2 in Henan, 2 in Hubei, 2 in Shandong, 2 in Chongqing, 1 in Gansu, 1 in Guangdong, 1 in Jilin and 1 in Inner Mongolia. In 2020, China's top 100 tourism potential counties are distributed in 25 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government). Among them, Bama, Beiliu, Dongxing, Gongcheng, Lipu, Jinxiu, Jingxi, Ningming, Pingnan, Rongxian, Rongshui, Shanglin and Pingxiang are among the 13 counties and cities, making them the provinces with the largest number on the list in China.
China's top 100 tourism potential counties are characterized by rapid market expansion, excellent basic conditions, exquisite tourism resources and strong government promotion. In 2019, the average growth rate of the total tourism revenue of China's top 100 tourism potential counties is 28.9%, 5.5 percentage points higher than that of China's top 100 tourism counties; the average growth rate of the number of tourists is 26.1%, 8.5 percentage points higher than that of China's top 100 tourism counties; the average ratio of the total tourism revenue to the county's GDP is 68.5%; there are 29 national 5A scenic spots and 287 national 4A scenic spots, and the tourism industry has become a hot spot It is an important driving force to promote the development of county economy.
The evaluation of comprehensive competitiveness of county tourism in China mainly focuses on six aspects: the enrichment of tourism resources, the activity of tourism economy, the convenience of tourism facilities, the advantage of ecological environment, the effectiveness of government promotion, and the reputation of tourism brand; the evaluation of development potential mainly focuses on four aspects: the potential of resource development, the potential of market expansion, the potential of basic support, and the potential of government promotion.
